Ski Sun Valley

If you don’t know where Sun Valley, Idaho is, you’re not a skier or snowboarder. It’s one of the most beautiful – & fun – skiing locations in the United States. After learning to ski in 2012, a friend of mine invited me to her family’s home in beautiful Sun Valley for skiing. We weighed the options Sun Valley has for beginners, & I ultimately decided to take a risk & hit the big-kid hills, as scary as they looked from the bottom.

Alright, so it was my third time skiing EVER… & I was a little worried. But I wasn’t about to go ski on their beginner “mountain” if you can even call it that. I wanted to go skiing where the pros go… err… on the lighter runs that is.

So my friend had been with me my first time skiing, & let me just say, it was incredibly embarrassing. I was lead down a rather steep run & certainly not prepared for it. So the decision to go up the mountain was a surprise to her. I was determined to prove myself… & that I did.

After skiing Sun Valley, & even doing one run on my own, I felt like I’d truly overcome a personal road block. I could officially do anything & everything I put my mind to. I was free. I would also consider this one of the stepping stones that ultimately lead me to adding “bungie jumping” & “sky diving” to my bucket list.

Skiing in general – I never thought I would ever be interested. Even after my first (horrible) experience, I was sure that I hated it. But once you know what you’re doing… WOW. I cannot even explain. Skiing Sun Valley though? There simply are not words. There is a reason that celebrities have homes there you know. It’s an absolutely incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s time to get out there & push yourself. Face your greatest fears… this was certainly one of mine.

Are you willing to go the distance?
