Lena Paganelli: College Student

Please introduce yourself:
My name is Lena Paganelli, I’m 18 years fresh, I live in the Inland Northwest where the sun always shines and an umbrella is completely unnecessary. Sometime in my bright future I want to figure out how to balance two of my BIGGEST goals: 1) Being a succesful broadcast journalist and 2) Being a supportive mother and wife.

What is something that motivates you & why?
This sounds lame, but they say say “No sacrifice, No Victory” (Transformers) so when I look at things that I’ve had to give up to get to my goals be it an A in a class or a big tip at work, I’m truly motivated.

What is something that inspires you & why?
Every time I turn on the TV I’m inspired. I wouldn’t classify myself as a lazy couch potato, but to be perfectly honest the media of the world is my biggest inspiration. From ESPN to CNN any time I see a striving young female journalist I’m inspired.

If you could recommend a movie, website, song, or book for others & their inspiration, what would it be & why?
Website: If you’re reading this you’re already there, 2147miles =]
Book: crack open the bible as corny as that sounds, every time something bad happens I crack open Job and am SO inspired. If you read it you’ll see what I’m saying. Life could be SOOOO much worse!!
Song: Fancy By: Drake. Corny. Cheesy. Obnoxious. oh and I hate the artist, but we need more women out there like this. If you work hard for what you have and are proud of it, this ones for you =]

5) What’s one thing you’ve done to Pay-It-Forward?
I have a favorite Bum. I don’t know his name, but he’s always in the same place. I give him pizza whenever I’m down town. =]

6) Do you have a goal list? If so, what are a few goals you would like to accomplish, small or large?
I have a book of things that I would like to accomplish before I expire. Some are silly like throw a house party while mom’s gone, or get a tattoo, but some are really cool like Throw a dart at a map and travel to where it lands, and use chalk to write my name on the Hollywood walk of fame over some celebrities name. =] As for now though, I’d really like to finish my AA and get my Masters in Communications. At this point I know I want to be at USC or University of Victoria B.C. but we’ll see where the world takes me.

7) Who is your hero & why? This can include anyone: Celebrity, Author, Mother, etc.
My hero, Amy 😉 she inspires me in ways she cant even imagine. My Mom Dad and Step-Mom without whom I would probably be emaciated and very hungry. My Brother Dizzle for his “I don’t give a What” attitude. And My Boss, because she is one classy young woman who’s worked really hard for what she has.
Oh and Katy Couric, for being an amazing TV personality. I can’t wait to meet her in person!!

8) Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 2020 I will be 28. By now I want to just have my foot in the door probably at a local station either in LA or BC. However, I will be on leave because my AMAZING future husband and myself will be having a child. And sometimes one goal must wait for another.

9) If you could make one wish right now, what would it be?
I have a job interview tonight, and I really pray to GOD that I get a second job soon =] but Im trusting him to put me in a good place.

10) If you could motivate or inspire someone with one paragraph, what would it say?
No matter what is going on now, think about how its going to affect you in 2 weeks 2 months and 2 years. If its not a big deal in 2 years, its not worth worrying about. And if it is still a big deal GET RID OF IT! If its a boyfriend, a friend, an ugly couch, a pair of shoes that you look at that just put you in a mood. Get rid of it. No room for negative energy. And always remember that you don’t have to be perfect to be wonderful. ♥
