Kelsey Mills: The Country Girl

Howdy – Hi, my name is Kelsey Mills. One of my goals i would love to accomplish is starting my own bakery. Another goal of mine would be to own my own house and start a family… I guess I should actually get a boyfriend first…

What is something that motivates you & why?
Something that motivates me is my mother. She always is pushing me to do something bigger and better. She always believes in me in everything I do.

What’s something difficult you’ve been through recently and how have you overcome it? Something difficult I went through was growing up… I’m 21 years old and am finally moved out of the house. Now im paying my own bills and buying my own food… It’s a love-hate relationship. I love being on my own but i hate paying bills.

If you could recommend a movie, website, song, or book for others & their inspiration, what would it be & why? A book I would recommend to anyone is “Half Broke Horses.” Its a true story about girl who grew up from nothing and she always pushed her self to be better and never doubted herself. It’s a very moving book that I would recommend to anyone.

What’s one thing you’ve done to Pay-It-Forward?
A couple of things I do to pay it forward is highway clean up. My Aunt Sherry and Larry have cleaned up trash on the highway for the last 15 years and I always try to help them when I can. But I think the only way to pay if forward is to do something nice and not tell anyone you did it. So I don’t really want to tell you something i have done because then it wouldn’t be paying if forward. You should just do something nice because it’s the nice thing to do.

Do you have a goal list? If so, what are a few goals you would like to accomplish? One of my biggest goals is to make my family proud. I just know my mom and dad are disappointed in me. I’m not going to school and I never had a 4.0 (GPA). I hope one day they will be proud of the things I’ve accomplished.

Who is your hero & why? My biggest hero is my uncle Larry. He is the hardest worker. He works all day every day, with no days off, is always putting others above himself and is always teaching me something new. I have never met a more wonderful role model then Larry.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? In 10 years I see myself with a family, a house, and a bakery that I own.

If you could make one wish right now, what would it be? If I could make one wish right now it would be… to have more wishes honestly. I can’t think of another wish right now. I feel pretty content right at the moment.
