Go Glamping

Why go glamping? What is Glamping? In short, Glamping is glamorous camping. Instead of sleeping on the floor in a tent, you sleep in a physical bed in a bigger tent. Instead of having nights by the camp fire (though this option is available), you enjoy nights by the wood fire stove. You’re away from it all – technology & everything, while still sparing your back from an uneven surface & hauling self-sawed wood around all evening.

When I first heard about ‘Glamping’, I was unsure. I’m an Idaho camping girl. Why pay for something that you can get for free? How is it “getting-away-from-it-all” when you’re sleeping in a bed & bathing in a claw-foot tub? Well, of course, I had to find out myself – so I put it on my bucket list & this last weekend, I had the opportunity to check this one off the list… definitely not for good (cuz I’m SO going back!) Here’s what I discovered:

  • Glamping still embodies all that camping does – without the crouching & the dewy morning feeling. You are still without television, cell service, internet, etc.
  • Sleeping in a nice comfy bed while you listen to the creek right outside the back tent door is one of the most soothing things in the world. (I need to get one of those sound spa things now.)
  • Firewood already provided. Need I say more?
  • Falling asleep to a wood stove & not having to worry about putting out a fire before bed… it is kinda nice…
  • And the clawfoot tub sitting on that back patio? I didn’t quite get to test that one out, but I’m incredibly intrigued.

You cannot knock it until you try it. 🙂

A BIG thank you to ROW Adventures & River Dance Lodge! Thank you for your hospitality! It was an absolute blast!
