Agreeing To Disagree

Eric Hoffer once wrote, “The beginning of thought is in disagreement – not only with others, but also with ourselves.”

Maybe Hoffer has something here. We’re all different; we’re all unique. If one might absolutely love a particular item, another might find it awfully hideous & there are times when we are torn internally. Though these moments of disagreement can often cause a stir, we must remind ourselves how wonderful it is to be who we are &, of course, that it’s alright if someone else might not agree with our opinion.

Although frustrating at times, it’s actually rather beautiful in it’s own way. It doesn’t matter if you go to church or not, what the color of your skin is, if you’re rich or poor… We’re all in the same boat, just trying to figure out where to go from here. We shouldn’t be afraid to be ourselves, ‘flaws’ & all.

During times of disagreement, we can learn to compromise. During times of struggle, we can find ways to pull together. During times of struggle, the relationship can get stronger… & we might just find ourselves falling in love a little bit further.
